Florida agriculture is going on the road.

Justin Timineri is the executive chef and culinary face of Fresh from Florida, the Florida State Department of Agriculture initiative.  He is an advocate for Florida agriculture and shares hundreds of recipes featuring Florida’s finest produce.  This past Tuesday, Timineri featured some of his favorite recipes at a cooking event at the Museum of Florida History. Almost all of the ingredients he used at the event came from Florida.

In an article about the event, Timineri said, “There’s so many different and wonderful species that we have here in Florida that are amazing culinary delights.” He was referring to the over 300 agricultural products Florida produces each year.

According to the article, in 2006 Timineri won the Food Network Challenge Great American Seafood Cookoff in New Orleans and cooked for the U.S. Olympic team in London in 2012, primarily with Florida cuisine. He often travels and showcases Florida produce and products through the recipes he has developed.

Timineri advises us to find ingredients close to home because these ingredients pack the most nutritional punch.

So now it’s your turn, what delicious Florida produce have you been using?
